Thanks to your tanks, Filco, Environmental Tank Services makes our local community a better place to live.
It’s a pump-it-out/pump-‘em-up program.
For more than 30 years, Filco has been pumping used heating oil from tanks throughout the Puget Sound region, and recycling that oil to generate profits that when donated pump up regional charities.
As the Puget Sound’s leader in oil tank issues, Filco has been supporting more than 50 local health, education, cultural, community and children's charities in our own backyard.
See the kind of difference your business with Filco makes in our shared neighborhoods:
Filco, has a warm spot in its heart for The Salvation Army. It’s why we’ve donated $75,000 – creating The Filco Fund – to help hundreds of struggling neighbors survive emergencies by paying for oil or other heating utilities. We believe in keeping homes warm and neighborhoods strong. For details – or to support The Salvation Army’s Northwest Division – contact 206-281-4353 or www.salvationarmynw.org.
It’s a sad and painful truth, but every community across the country has young people with no structured recreation. In tough times, increasing numbers of children are left at home with no adult supervision. Many are left to find pass time on the streets.
Filco believes young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more by creating a safe and fun place to learn and grow. These clubs are truly The Positive Place For Kids. For his long-time commitment to Wallingford Boys & Girls Club, Filco owner Phil Suetens was awarded “Honorary Board Member” in 2010. Heroes are a special breed of people. Many of them have sacrificed greatly while serving in America’s military.
That’s why Filco supports the Veterans Administration Puget Sound’s Fisher House – 21 “home-away-from-home” suites for families of veterans who are patients of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. This public-private partnership provides needy guests with a comfortable and supportive place to live while being near their loved ones. It offers a special humanitarian service beyond what is typically provided by the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. For details – or to support The Fisher House – contact 206-277-3950 or www.fisherhousevaps.org.
Nothing stops the people of Seattle from celebrating its proud heritage and historic national holidays. With gifts from generous partners – including Filco the fireworks extravaganza tradition of the Family 4th at Lake Union lit up the night sky on Independence Day 2010. Hunger hurts. But for more than 40 years, Northwest Harvest has been feeding those in need in Seattle and across Washington state through a network of partner food banks, meal programs and elementary schools. Millions have nutritious meals because of this group.
Filco respects the dignified and professional approach at Northwest Harvest, and supports their efforts. For details – or to support Northwest Harvest – contact 1-800-722-6924 or www.northwestharvest.org.
Homelessness is a complex issue in the Puget Sound area. But Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission has been “restoring hope to our community since 1932” with food, shelter, health and dental care, and recovering services for local men, women and children. Job and transitional training is ready for those who are willing to work toward success with this private, faith-based group. Filco supports Union Gospel Mission services because we share their goals: to empower one another to build, lead and give back.
